Cinnamon Spiced Christmas Cookies Recipe

A quintessential festive activity, these simple Christmas cookies are made with store cupboard ingredients, can be decorated however you fancy and make the perfect edible Xmas gift.

Preparation Time

10 minutes + 15 minutes chilling

Cooking Time

15- 18 minutes


12- 15 biscuits


Mixing bowls, rolling pin, measuring scales, baking sheet, spatula, whisk, Christmas cookie cutters


200g Plain flour

2 tsp Cinnamon

60g Light brown muscovado sugar

150g Dairy free butter

1 tsp Vanilla extract

100g Dairy free dark chocolate (optional for decoration)

Christmas sprinkles (optional for decoration)


Step 1

Preheat an oven to 190oc and line a large baking tray with non-stick parchment paper.

Step 2

Combine the plain flour, cinnamon and sugar in a large mixing bowl.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, whisk together the dairy free butter and vanilla extract until light and creamy.

Step 4

Add the creamed butter to the flour and fold in until you get a smooth dough ball.

Step 5

Chill for 15 minutes.

Step 6

Transfer the dough to a lightly dusted worktop and roll out to about 1.5cm thick.

Step 7

Using your cookie cutters, cut out your seasonal shapes before transferring them to the lined baking sheet.

Step 8

Bake in a pre-heated oven for 15 – 18 minutes until golden brown.

Step 9

Allow to cool, before dipping them in melted dairy free dark chocolate and covering with festive sprinkles.
