SAE-RIMA The Runes Necklace

This handmade, gender neutral Anglo-Saxon inspired symbol design necklace is a collaborative piece from Bluebell Lane X SÆ-RIMA and has been created with recycled fine silver and comes in two silver rope chain lengths.

How is it made?

The Runes Necklace is made from silver clay which is made up from tiny particles of fine silver.

The silver, which is sourced from the inside of old computers, medical instruments and photography supplies, is ground down and mixed with a non-toxic organic binder to form the clay.

To make the Runes Necklace, the clay is rolled out and imprinted in to using 4 small stamps that are made from off-cuts in the workshop.

Once the Runes have been stamped, and each necklace cut to size, they are left to dry over night, when they are then ready to be fired.

Chain size options - 24” or 26” chain.

Please note that because of the nature of the clay, and each piece being made by hand, each necklace will vary slightly in size, but will measure approx. 3cm x 1cm.

Brand Story

SÆ-RIMA was set up by two friends, Becca and Henry. Both passionate about design they met 15 years ago and despite both living and working in London, Suffolk will always be home. SÆ-RIMA was inspired by a trip to the West Coast, where they noticed many companies specialising in well-made and sustainably designed clothing. This s the inspiration for their collection, whilst directly deriving inspiration from their beloved home county, Suffolk. As part of SÆ-RIMA's aim to reduce waste in the apparel industry, it was important that they created a range of clothing that can be worn, swapped or handed down to everyone.

Bluebell Lane Jewellery was founded by Suffolk-based jewellery maker, Ruth Lea. After spending a couple of years honing her jewellery making skills, in 2018 she started Bluebell Lane with the aim of creating contemporary sustainable jewellery by hand in her workshop using recycled eco silver wherever possible. Ruth now has a wide collection of beautiful jewellery, making it easy to discover unique pieces which combine style and sustainability.
